Book Hanbok in Advance or Walk In? A Seoul Rental Checklist
Walk-ins work at some shops; reserve when the outfit, fit or photography slot matters. There is no single booking rule for all hanbok rental shops.

Oneday’s official guide accepts walk-ins and recommends booking on weekends and public holidays. Gowoonsol’s Q&A explains that walk-ins depend on capacity. MOA’s official page asks customers to message first to check availability before paying. These are different policies, not interchangeable promises.
A reservation can mean three different things
A rental arrival time, a held garment and a photography appointment are separate commitments. Ask which one you are buying. MOA specifically says designs are first come, first served even on the booking day. Gowoonsol describes special arrangements for holding a particular outfit. Do not assume a reference photo reserves that garment.
Check these six details before payment
- Exact shop name, branch, address and floor.
- Rental duration and when the clock starts.
- Garment grade and size, with any stock limitation.
- Included hair, underskirt, bag, shoes and storage.
- Final rental total, refundable deposit and extension charges.
- Cancellation deadline, lateness policy and latest return time.
Save the package description and confirmation. A promotional booking price may cover different inclusions from the recorded shop rate; compare like with like using the price table.
If your plans change
Contact the shop or the platform you booked through before the stated deadline. A message sent is not a confirmed change: keep the acceptance reply. Rain, a late train or a palace closure does not automatically establish a refund or a new time. Verify the palace’s opening day before you reserve, and leave walking and changing time before the agreed return deadline.
